Landesign was approached by a client to help develop a concrete batching plant on a recycling site . Located in the green belt, the site had been the subject of an earlier unsuccessful application for a similar development which eventually had to be withdrawn due to the environmental effects of the proposal and the proposal’s incompatibility with the green belt policy.
Following the withdrawal of that first application Landesign was introduced to the site and agreed a new approach with the client and the plant manufacturer to provide a new strategy to make the proposal less intrusive whilst maintaining the clients commercial aspirations.
The design of the plant was altered, its position changed within the site and the subsequent planning application was granted planning permission.
